Susan Bush

Susan Elaine is a singer-songwriter based in Rochester, NY. Melodic, playful, authentic and edgy, Susan’s blend of folk, acoustic pop, and indie/Americana music is shaped by many forces and reaches across genre, identity, and experiences to connect with universal themes.

First performing in the 1990’s Philadelphia queer and folk scenes, Susan has spent the intervening decades off the stage, focusing on work, family, and developing her songwriting, production, and musical skills. Re-entering the world of performance, she’s discovering that performance-based audience and musician interactions energize and enliven music in a way that is irreplaceable.

Also a newly emerging music producer, Susan is exploring the intricacies of Logic and producing tracks in a completely new genre for her, indie pop, which she is finding to be wildly fun and freeing. The first track she completed, as the Franklies (featuring Ashley Levy of the Blah Blah Blahs), has enjoyed some commercial success, having been placed in an episode of MTV Cribs.

Whatever the form or genre, Susan’s heart lives in making music. She is presently recording a collection of acoustic folk songs Loosely grouped in an EP called Love Songs, these songs explore love as an action verb, from parenting to grieving to enjoying, supporting, and growing.
